Tangier – King Mohammed VI on Saturday inaugurated Abderrahmane Youssoufi Avenue in Tangier.
The avenue was named after Abderrahmane Youssoufi, the Prime Minister of the government of Alternance (1998-2002).
The royal gesture, which comes within the context of Moroccan people’s celebration of the 17th anniversary of the accession of the Sovereign to the Throne, is a tribute to this great figure of the national movement, who was born in Tangier, and statesman who demonstrated extraordinary dedication, wisdom and integrity in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Abderrahmane Youssoufi Avenue, which was previously called “Assalam,” is located in downtown Tangier.
