The Moroccan national team holds a higher market value than the combined total of Algeria, Egypt and Tunisia, according to the latest figures released by Transfermarkt ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The data highlights Morocco’s remarkable rise on the international stage, with the Atlas Lions now valued at €490.20 million. That figure places them comfortably ahead of their fellow Arab-African World Cup representatives, whose combined market value reaches €442.73 million.
Algeria ranks second among the region’s qualified teams with a squad value of €256.6 million, followed by Egypt at €116.48 million and Tunisia at €69.65 million.
When the values of the three nations are added together, they still fall short of Morocco’s total by €47.47 million, underlining the growing financial and sporting weight of Mohamed Ouahbi’s squad.
What this means
The figures reflect the quality and skills that Morocco has gathered in recent years, with several players competing for Europe’s biggest clubs.
Stars such as Achraf Hakimi, Brahim Diaz, Nayef Aguerd, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Ismael Saibari have contributed significantly to the Atlas Lions’ market valuation.
In addition, Morocco’s growing value mirrors its increasing influence in world football.
Since becoming the first African and Arab nation to reach a World Cup semi-final in Qatar in 2022, the Atlas Lions have established themselves among the continent’s top teams and have consistently climbed both FIFA rankings, 7th place in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking for the first time in its history, and market-value charts.
Beyond the numbers, the latest Transfermarkt assessment serves as another indicator of the progress made by Moroccan football over the past decade. Significant investments in youth development, infrastructure and talent identification have helped create one of the strongest generations in the country’s history.
