Casablanca — Popular Moroccan chaabi singer Saïd Senhaji was a victim of sextorsion and had a naked video published online, Telquel reports.
A video featuring a naked Saïd Senhaji was widely shared on social media. On YouTube, the video has already garnered over 70,000 views.
Senhaji’s managers were allegedly approached a few years ago for money in exchange for the illicit footage. He had paid 30,000 DH for the video and destroyed it. But the blackmailing continued.
After handling more threats, Senhaji decided to approach Moroccan authorities, who helped him arrest the sextortionist in question, who was reportedly arrested a few days ago in Tetouan.
Senhaji expressed himself on his Facebook page, saying that “the circumstances surrounding the shooting of this video are unknown to me. […] Today, I am speaking out to defend my children’s dignities. The person who filmed this video had only one objective: to blackmail me.”
“I am sorry. I have to teenage daughters, who go to school, who are 15 and 12. I’m scared for them. I can’t deal with blackmail anymore and I am not here to claim being innocent,” Senhaji’s Facebook video continued..
According to an investigation led by Le360, the sextortionist is likely a former client who was angry after Senhaji cancelled a concert contract in favor of another.
