Madrid – The Spanish government congratulated Morocco on its return to the African Union (AU), and the pan-African organization for the decision adopted during its 28th summit in Addis Ababa, Said Spanish Foreign ministry.
“The Spanish government expresses its great satisfaction at this decision, given Spain’s excellent relations with Morocco, a neighboring country and strategic partner, as well as with the African Union, a vital interlocutor in the African continent,” the ministry said Tuesday in a statement.
An overwhelming majority of African countries on Monday voted in favor of Morocco’s return to the African Union, during the 28th Summit of African Heads of State and Government.
