Salé  – An Italian national sued in terror-related cases had his prison sentence reduced to one year by the Court of Appeal on Wednesday.

The accused was sentenced in October 2016 by the Court of First Instance to three years for “forming a gang to commit terrorist attacks within the framework of a collective plot to seriously undermine public order, defending acts advocating terrorism and praising a terrorist organization.”

The Court also upheld the sentence imposed by the Court of First Instance on the application of the procedure for the expulsion of the accused from the country.

He was arrested in June 2016 at Oujda Angad airport, on the basis of security information about his membership in ISIS and involvement in a destructive project targeting Morocco in coordination with the leaders of this organization.
