Rabat – Minister responsible for Moroccans Residing Abroad and Immigration Affairs, Abdelkrim Benatiq, said that his ministry would assign “exceptional attention” to Moroccans Living Abroad, and would create decent living conditions for immigrants in Morocco.  Benatiq made the statements on Friday.

In an interview with the media, the newly appointed Minister responsible for Moroccans Residing Abroad and Immigration Affairs, Abdelkrim Benatiq, said that the issues of Moroccans living abroad and immigration “are given strategic priority by His Majesty.”

The official noted that his appointment is a huge responsibility that prompts him to assign “exceptional attention” to the Moroccans living abroad, as well as talented Moroccans everywhere in the world. Benatiq affirmed that his ministry would focus on all the problems at hand. On another note, Benatiq mentioned that Moroccans living abroad are strongly attached to Morocco and that the main mission of his ministry is to link them with their “native country.”

Speaking of immigration, the newly appointed Minister pointed out that it is one of the priorities of King Mohammed VI, noting that Morocco has become a country that is attractive to immigrants. He stated that the ministry would focus on serving the “people who chose to settle in Morocco,” create decent living conditions for these people and facilitate their integration in Morocco.

Asked to deliver a message to the Moroccans living abroad, the Minister responsible for Moroccans Residing Abroad and Immigration Affairs asserted: “The ministry will be at their disposal and its doors will always be open. Our goal is to serve the Moroccans living abroad, who should consider that their problems are our problems. We will always be there for them, and effective in solving all the problems. This will be through direct communication with them.”
