Rabat – The Development and Solidarity Without Borders Association (ADSSF), has launched a diabetes screening campaign during Ramadan, intended to sensitize people in Marrakech to the risks caused by the complications of this chronic disease.

5,000 elderly and needy people  will benefit from this campaign. The diabetes screening initiative, nicknamed “Raht Al Bal,” has been organized in partnership with the Africa Diabetes Company.

“Nearly 2 million Moroccans have diabetes, half of them are unaware they suffer from this disease,” explained Fatiha El Houdzi, president of the ADSSF.

The same source added that “this illness, whose evolution may be insidious, is easy to detect, especially through screening.”

The diabetes screening test is free of charge and anonymous. People wishing to benefit from it can do so by filling out an online application form on www.africa-diabetes.com/Ramadan, or by simply sending an SMS or a WhatsApp message to +(212)668815566.
