Rabat – The College of Fashion and Design, the largest educational institution of its kind in Prague and the Czech Republic, has presented its 2017 student collection under the theme “Moroccan Paths.”
The fashion show strives to illustrate Moroccan life by giving pictures of the Marathon des Sables, the artistic works of the painter Zakaria Ramhani, Berber carpets, Moroccan street art, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, the warm colors of the Moroccan desert, and other aspects celebrating the Moroccan diversity.
The collection of about forty essentially ready-to-wear outfits inspired by Moroccan daily life is the result of a year of preparation and organization.
The mayor of Prague, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Prague, members of Parliament and government, numerous personalities from the world of fashion, culture and the arts, as well as media representatives, attended the event as guests.
This large-scale cultural event, the first of its kind ever organized in partnership with an Arab, Islamic and African embassy, was initiated jointly by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Czech Republic, the Czech-Moroccan Friendship and co-operation and the great College of Fashion and Design in Prague, under the direction of Marta Chvojkova, Director of the College and Eva Vontorova, professor-stylist.
The head of the Prague Fashion and Design College, Marta Chvojkova, welcomed the remarkable creations of her students, noting that Morocco has always been inspiring artists through its rich culture and has always attracted her students.
At the end of the show, praised by the 400 guests present, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Prague offered a reception which served many typical Moroccan specialties of the holy month of Ramadan.
