Rabat – Crown Prince Moulay Hassan received on Monday a group of Palestinian children from Jerusalem taking part in the 10th edition of the summer camp organized by Bayt Mal Al Quds.
A report aired by the Moroccan state-run channel Al Oula shows the Crown Prince dressed in white and black military attire and shaking hands with the smiling Palestinian children.
Following their reception, Prince Moulay Hassan posed for a photo with the guests.
“All respect and esteem to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his care for Jerusalem children to the 10th consecutive year. We also thank His Highness Prince Moulay Hassan for the wonderful reception,” said Maher Mafarja, head of the Palestinian delegation.
“Throughout these last five years, the children of Jerusalem have been very happy for their stay here in Morocco”.
“We thank King Mohammed VI and Moroccan people for their welcoming reception in all the places we have been too, whether in the airport or the historical and tourist sites we visited,” said a young Palestinian girl. “It was a wonderful experience. We learned about Morocco’s culture and discovered that there are people from around the world who support the Palestinian people.”
Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency is an affiliate of Al-Quds Committe, chaired by King Mohammed VI.
The agency, which is financed mostly by Morocco, has invested in several human development projects in the sacred city with the aim to alleviate the burden of occupation.
Summer camps have provided Palestinian children with a chance to visit Morocco and discover some of its most famous places. This year, 50 children, aged between 11 and 13 years, have benefited from the program.
In total, 500 children from the holy city have visited Morocco throughout the last ten years.
