Rabat – Morocco will launch its first military satellite on November 8, 2017. The kingdom had previously purchased two models of the ‘Pleiades’ type from France at an amount of EUR 500 million.
The launch of the satellite will take place in Kourou, French Guiana. An Italian-made satellite launcher will carry out the mission, reported menadefense.net.
Built in France, these observation satellites will be able to respond to civil and military needs and can take images with a resolution of 50 Cm.
The image control and reception station is located to the east of the Rabat airport in Morocco, added the news outlet.
