Rabat – The rate of air traffic at Marrakech-Menara airport recorded an increase of 9.19 percent in the first half of 2017, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The number of passengers arriving to Morocco via the international airport reached 2,087,492 during the first quarter of 2017, compared with 1,911,711 passengers for the same period of 2016, according to statistics from the National Airport Authority (ONDA)
During the first half of 2017, the share of Marrakech-Menara airport in national traffic was at 18.53 percent, ranking second, behind Casablanca’s international Mohammed V airport which held a share of 49.44 percent, while Agadir’s Al Massira airport came in third place with a 6.97 percent share.
At the national level, the international air route Marrakech-Paris Orly occupied the second place with 253,782 passengers, while Marrakech-Gatwick occupied the fifth position with 162,971 passengers.
The number of passengers passing through this airport in June 2017 amounted to 282,195, compared with 269,283 passengers during the same period of the previous year, recording an increase of almost 5 percent.
