The film traces the story the opening of a new swimming pool in a disadvantaged neighborhood in Cairo district, which announces that Sundays will be reserved for women. This decision causes psychological and emotional consequences on the women of the neighborhood. The pool becomes their comfort zone, the only place where they can enjoy their time away from society’s expectations.

‘A Day for Women’ opened last year’s Cairo International Film festival (CIFF) and was one of two Egyptian films that made it to the competition’s final lineup.

The movie made its international premiere at the 60th London Film Festival, and it also participated in the 13th edition of Dubai International Movie Festival and other international festivals.

Actors and actresses in the film include Hala Sedky, Nelly Karim, Nahed El-Sebaei, Eyad Nasser, Farouk El-Fishawy, and Mahmoud Hemeda.
