Rabat – Maroc Export is organizing Morocco’s first participation in the 2017 Jeddah International Trade Fair (JITF), to open this November 20 to 23 in Saudi Arabia. More than 20 Moroccan companies are expected to take part in the event.
It is on an area of ??306 m² that the Kingdom will be represented at the International Trade Fair of Jeddah. Set up by Maroc Export, the center for exportation promotion will lead a delegation of 20 companies to exhibit Morocco’s export potential as represented by various industrial sectors.
“This fair will provide an opportunity for Moroccan companies to discover the different economic potentialities of Saudi Arabia and participating Gulf countries, and explore the existing business opportunities in these markets,” explained Maroc Export in a communique.
Saudi Arabia, a market of 31 million inhabitants growing by 4 percent per year on average, offers many opportunities for Moroccan companies. The most dynamic exports are in the sectors of cosmetics and luxury goods, pharmaceutical preparations, textiles, aeronautics, and equipment for the oil industry.
“The region’s largest cosmetics market: with 14 million consumers (almost 50 percent of the population) and a growing young population with an increasingly Western lifestyle, the beauty, and personal care market is growing at full growth,” added the Moroccan center.
As for the furniture industry market, Saudi Arabia makes extensive use of imports, particularly for decorative and furnishing products. Imports of furniture are estimated to grow by 14 percent in 2017. The tableware market, estimated at around USD 15 million, is also a buoyant segment. In addition, Saudi Arabia is one of the most active countries in terms of construction projects.
As such, Riyadh and Jeddah will see an increase of more than 40,000 new hotel rooms by 2018. “The Moroccan offer in all these sectors is likely to conquer this market and thus demonstrate the know-how of Made in Morocco,” said Maroc Export.
