Marrakech – On Monday, the International Federation of Professional Football Players (FIFPRO), announced this year’s Women’s World 11 – a lineup designed to celebrate the best performing players of the 2024/2025 season.
This year’s iteration of the award, which was voted by a committee of 6452 professional women’s football players, marked the first time multiple African players appeared in the 11, with Barbra Banda (Orlando Pride, Zambia) and Ghizlane Chebbak (Badalona / Al Hilal, Morocco, first Moroccan player to feature in the FIFPRO Women’s World 11) both featuring.
Chebbak reacted to the milestone in an interview for Le360, saying that “Being the first Moroccan female player to be included in the FIFPRO 11 is honestly an indescribable feeling. The feeling is a mix of joy, pride, and also responsibility.”
Chebbak was the midfielder with the third-most votes (only behind multiple-time Ballon d’Or winners Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas). She reflected on what it means to be listed among such prominent figures according to a FIFPRO Instagram post.
“To be among eleven players who have left their mark on women’s football around the world, all the efforts I have made over these years feel rewarded. It can only fill me with the responsibility to keep working and persevering to achieve bigger things.”

WAFCON 2026, a personal goal
When asked about what those bigger things could look like, the national team captain brought attention to the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to be hosted in Morocco for the third consecutive time.
After two consecutive finals losses to Nigeria and South Africa, in 2025 and 2022, respectively, Chabbak sees the 2026 WAFCON as a chance to finally get over the hurdle.
“My biggest dream is to win a trophy with the national team. Two times, we’ve lost the final, but we hope to win this precious trophy soon.”
Starting from March 17 of next year, Chabbak will be leading the national team once more on the quest for what has been a very elusive prize.
