Juventus giant stars also wore special kits decorated with Arabic script during the Italian Super Cup match against Lazio.
Rabat – Real Madrid football stars are set to wear special kits with their names written in Arabic during their Super Cup match against Valencia on January 8 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The club’s superstar Karim Benzema posted picture of a jersey with his last name in Arabic on his Facebook.
The caption, however, says he will not be part of Real Madrid’s squad for the match.
“Wish I could be there for the game in Saudi Arabia! Good Luck!,” Benzema wrote with the Real Madrid hashtag in Arabic language.
Benzema will miss the game due to an injury in his left leg.
Real Madrid is not the only team to ask kit suppliers for Arabic jerseys for a supercup match in Saudi Arabia.
In December, Italian football club Juventus football players wore jerseys with Arabic calligraphy in a match against Lazio.
Moroccan-Saudi Calligrapher Shaker Kashgari helped Juventus and Adidas to design the jersey with Arabic calligraphy.
“I am honored and glad to work and collaborate with @juventus and @adidasfootball to work on their Calligraphy special edition for the Italian Super Cup that will be played in Riyadh, to write the club names on players jerseys,” he said.
