Rabat – The Jordanian capital, Amman, is set to host a Morocco-Jordanian economic forum on January 13.
The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Professional Association of Moroccan Banks (GPBM) organized the event, in collaboration with the Jordanian Businessmen’s Association, the Jordanian Chamber of Industry, and the Association of Banks in Jordan.
The forum aims to promote economic and commercial relations between the two Kingdoms.
The meeting will include several conferences and workshops, focusing on tourism, transport, agriculture, food industry, banking and financial services, and information and communication technologies.
The workshops will also tackle the fields of construction and real estate, health, pharmaceutics, and start-ups.
In addition to attending business to business (B2B) meetings, the participants will make visits to several industrial sites in the Middle-Eastern country.
A large delegation of businessmen and representatives of Moroccan banks are set to take part in the event.
The Moroccan and Jordanian organizers announced the forum in a joint press release, after the visit of Jordanian King Abdullah II to Morocco on March 27-28, 2019.
During the visit, the Jordanian King met with King Mohammed VI to discuss wide-ranging issues driving politics in the Middle East.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen diplomatic ties between Rabat and Amman. They also stressed the importance of collective action to face high-priority issues of the region.
Following the meeting between the two monarchs, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, announced that the countries will also collaborate in several economic sectors, including energy, agriculture, and tourism.
