Rabat – Air traffic at Ouarzazate Airport has recorded a significant increase of 52.78%, reaching a total of 136,007 passengers in 2019 compared to 89,024 a year before, according to data from the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA).

In December alone, the number of travelers arriving and departing from Ouarzazate airport increased by 42.03% reaching 11,642 compared to 8,197 in the same period in 2018.

Overall, Morocco’s air traffic increased by 11.18% in 2019, reaching a record of 25,059,840 passengers arriving or departing from Moroccan airports.

International traffic exceeded 22 million passengers, representing an increase of 9.8%.

Air traffic with Europe represents more than 79% of Morocco’s international air traffic.

In 2019, Moroccan airports recorded a total of 17,464,911 passengers coming from or traveling to Europe, up by 10.82% compared to 2018.
