Rabat – The new Regional Investment Center for Fes-Meknes (CRI) has opened its new headquarters, designed by renowned Moroccan architect Hicham Lahlou.

The interior design, including the decoration and the choice of furniture for the project, came to life through Hicham Lahlou’s vision for the space.

The internationally renowned designer created a new refined, crisp and functional space, in line with the new vision of the CRI and the establishment’s new customer-oriented approach, according to a press release shared with Morocco World News.

Hicham Lahlou is a celebrated personality in the world of architecture and design for having popularized design, conveyed the image of a contemporary and creative Morocco, and for having initiated industrial design in Morocco. Many in the field consider his designs to be a mixture of history, cultural references, heritage, and modernity.

Hicham Lahlou is also the designer behind the high speed train stations of Tangier, Kenitra, Rabat-Agdal, and Casablanca Voyageurs with his signature structured shapes and vibrant color palettes. He is also the World Design Organization’s regional advisor for Africa.

The CRI press release described the partnership as a success, stating, “This successful collaboration with Moroccan companies at the forefront of their respective activities once again demonstrates the industrial and artisanal capacity of Morocco.”

The same source added that “design is strategic and transversal to all areas, and can be an important economic lever for the human, economic and social development of the Fez-Meknes Region, and more broadly at the national level.”

This renovation concerned all areas of the building, ranging from the exterior facade, entrance hall, as well as all floors and all offices, all the way to the furniture used.

The new CRI center is now structured as a semi-open workspace, with modern style furniture and the presence of the institution’s iconic accent color, red. Modern graphic murals are also visible on the inside walls of the building, reflecting CRI’s newly found focus, entrepreneurship, and technologies.
