Denver – The OCP group released a statement today, announcing that its affiliate OCP Maintenance Solutions (OCP-MS) has signed a partnership agreement with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), one of the largest business management firms in the world.
The agreement was signed at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University that would see both companies enter into a strategic partnership.
BCG is one of the top three management consulting firms in the US, and reported a revenue of $8.6 billion last fiscal year. The company specializes in multiple areas related to business development including branding, corporate development, deconstruction and globalization.
Furthermore, BCG specializes in organization, pricing, strategy, and technology and communications, according to the company’s official profile. It has also conducted work with the governments of different countries, including Malaysia and Rwanda, in addition to major global companies like the Dutch-based KLM Royal Dutch airlines.
OCP, on the other hand, is one of the world’s largest producers of phosphate, which is a crucial element of plant fertilizers. OCP reported a revenue of over $5.8 billion during its 2018 fiscal year.
OCP-MS is the maintenance-oriented affiliate of OCP group, and focusses on services such as automated data processing, training and providing analysis, measurement and testing for the industrial sector.
The alliance between the two businesses will involve subsidiaries of the group, OCP Maintenance Solutions and BCG GAMMA. These two organizations “will cooperate to jointly provide solutions integrating industrial expertise, digital and artificial intelligence (AI) to large industrial groups, in Africa and internationally.”
Through this “unprecedented collaboration,” both OCP and BCG will work together “to offer a global and unique” product to aid developing businesses more efficiently manage and integrate their digital systems, while also working to improve “predictive maintenance” abilities in these companies.
BCG already has a large presence in Africa, with permanent offices in Casablanca, Lagos, Luanda, Johannesburg and Nairobi.
OCP is a major player on the continent with business and development operations in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Zambia alongside its base of operations in Morocco.
However, the company has recognized the underused amount of fertilizer throughout African agriculture, and has pegged the continent as the location with the most potential future growth, according to the OCP group website.
