Rabat – The Ministry of Health has urged citizens and residents to get vaccinated and continue being COVID-cautious, warning that a new wave of COVID-19 contamination remains a possibility despite Morocco’s largely encouraging trend in recent weeks.

“A further increase in cases remains possible, despite the remarkable improvement in the epidemiological situation,” the ministry said

Recalling the continuous need for caution as the virus has still not been eradicated, the ministry called on citizens and residents to remain vigilant and avoid laxity that could result in a possible relapse with serious and critical cases and deaths, such as those that have occurred in many European countries.

It urged citizens to be more involved in the effort to continue improving the epidemiological situation, through three basic rules: engaging in the national vaccination campaign against  the pandemic, taking doses of vaccine in order to avoid serious and critical cases, and complying with prevention and precautionary measures.

“Compliance with all these basic rules, as well as the national treatment protocol, remains the only way to live with this virus and ensure the improvement of the epidemiological situation, while avoiding a further increase in cases in this period marked by the  back to school and university and the reduction of collective precautionary measures,” the press release added.

As of this evening, Morocco recorded 942,779 COVID-19 cases, including 922,456 recoveries and 14,566 deaths.
