Denver- Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch has selected agronomic expert Mohamed Sadiki as the country’s new Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.
Sadiki has extensive experience serving in the country’s agricultural sector, and previously held the position of Secretary-General in the Ministry of Agriculture.
Sadiki holds PhDs in Agricultural Science and Agricultural Engineering and is also a professor of genetics at the Hassan II University’s Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine.
Sadiki also participated in multiple international forums related to agricultural sciences. He has held positions on the board of directors of the International Platform for Agrobiodiversity Research and was a member of the Scientific Council of the International Center for Agricultural Research and Development.
He was also Morocco’s representative to the Board of Governors of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
After Thursday’s announcement, Sadiki will officially take over responsibility for Morocco’s agricultural sector from incoming Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch who formerly served in that capacity prior to his election.
