Rabat – The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its travel advisories list and placed Morocco among COVID-19 low-risk countries.
The update shows Morocco moving from “high-risk countries” to countries with lower risks of COVID infections.
However, the CDC warned travelers that they should continue to follow health recommendations in Morocco, including the wearing of masks and social distancing.
“Do not travel internationally until you are fully vaccinated,” the CDC warned.
Recently, Royal Air Maroc announced a list of new travel requirements for US-bound passengers.
The conditions set up by the CDC said all non-US citizens and non-US migrants to be fully vaccinated prior to traveling to the US.
Additionally, passengers have to show a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19.
“If you are a non-U.S. citizen non-U.S. immigrant and not fully vaccinated, you will not be allowed to enter the United States. Only limited exceptions apply to the requirement to show proof of vaccination,” the CDC emphasized.
Morocco has put in place several conditions to enter its territory as part of the continuous preventive measures under the anti-COVID campaign.

Morocco has been under a state of emergency since March 2020, with authorities insisting that the measure allows them to take proactive steps and intervene in accordance with the country’s prevailing epidemiological situation.
To date, Morocco has reported 948,976 COVID-19 cases, including 931,143 recoveries, and 14,764 COVID-related fatalities.
