Rabat – The Moroccan Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai hosts a photo exhibition titled “From Al-Quds to Rabat: Crossed Smiles,” which outlines Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause.
The exhibition, which runs until December 3, shed light on King Mohammed VI’s actions to support the Palestinian cause and highlights the efforts of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by the Moroccan King.
Encompassing more than 20 paintings, the exhibition includes photographs from the archives of the last session of the Al-Quds Committee as well as the historic reception of Morocco’s King of Pope Francis on March 30, 2019 in Rabat.
The historic visit of the Pope was marked by the signing of the “Al-Quds Call,” aimed at promoting and enhancing the multi-faith character, spiritual dimension, and the identity of the city of Jerusalem.
Organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency under the Al-Quds Committee, the exhibition dedicates a space to the ties between Moroccans and Palestinians.
There are also photos of the receptions of King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, to the children of Al-Quds participating in the summer camps in Morocco.
The exhibition evokes the joy of Palestinian children during their previous visits to Morocco, wiht other photos highlighting both the love and solidarity Moroccans have for Palestinians and Morocco’s traditional efforts in advocating for a better future for generations of Palestinians.
In a recent letter to Cheikh Niang, the President of the UN Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, King Mohammed VI stressed Morocco’s unwavering commitment to defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He also called for the preservation of the Arab and Islamic identity of Al Quds, as well as of its legal historical and demographic status.
