Rabat – Morocco’s football team is among the shortlist of nominees of the Globe Soccer’s 2021’s best national team worldwide award.

The Globe Soccer Award is a prestigious award ceremony in Dubai, organized by the European Club Association and the European Association of Player Agents. Its 12th annual award ceremony will take place on December 27.

The national team will compete for the award against other renowned teams including  Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Italy and Mexico.

Morocco’s presence in the Globe Award shortlist comes after several successful performances as part of the 2022 World Cup qualifier games.

The Atlas Lions’ performances also enabled them to improve the team’s FIFA ranking.

FIFA’s ranking listed Morocco as the second best football team in Africa.

The Atlas Lions also ranked 28th in the FIFA ranking that was published on November 19.

The Moroccan team secured the new position with an overall score of 1525.

Morocco’s latest match was against Guinea on November 16, when the Atlas Lions dominated the rival team with 3-0 after a victory of 4-1 on October 12.
