Rabat – Spanish police arrested four of the thirteen Moroccan men who fled an airplane that was flying from Morocco to Turkey.
Spanish news outlet Heraldo reported that the arrest took place on November 16 in the Mallorcan municipality of Sa Pobla.
During the first security operation on November 6, Spanish police arrested 12 passengers, mostly Moroccans, who had fled the Turkey-bound airplane a day earlier.
Last week, Europa Press reported that two of the 12 Moroccans arrested were immediately returned to Morocco on the same flight.
The Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie arrested the passengers when they arrived in Morocco, charging them with sedition.

The Moroccan men fled the airplane during an emergency landing at the Palma de Mallorca airport.
Around 24 people (all Moroccans except one, who is believed to be Palestinian national) fled an Air Arabia flight that was en route to Turkey, creating an unprecedented scene of attempted irregular migration that many reports have since described as the “great escape.”
On November 8, police confirmed that the emergency landing was planned in a Facebook group almost five months ago.
Members of a Moroccan Facebook group named “Brooklyn” conceived the “great” escape plan on July 17.
Investigations are still ongoing to arrest the remaining passengers who are still on the run.
