Fez – Morocco’s Atlas Lions dominated the field tonight, beating Sudan 3-0 in the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat. The game was one of the two remaining games in the second round of Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Morocco’s Bosnian head coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, made some changes to his lineup. Halilhodzic brought Metz defender Sofiane Allakouche, into the lineup for the first time.
Rayan Mmaee scored the game’s opening goal with a lavish gesture in the 6th minute.
In the first half, the Sudanese Falcons of Jediane tried to challenge Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, but the Moroccan defensive wall hindered many attempts.
The Moroccan team fiercely kept balance, showing their technical mastery, and tactical compactness.

Sudan’s hopes of scoring in Bounou’s net were dashed by Mmaee’s second goal in the 61st minute, leaving them to feverishly chase after a game that had already gone away from them.
The third goal was scored by Imran Louza in the third minute of overtime, to conclude the game with a good score that emphasized the team’s strong performance.
On October 12, the national team was able to remove the Guinean hurdle from their way to the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Winning that game was a ticket to the second round of the qualifiers, topping group I with 12 points.
Morocco will play one more game against Guinea on November 16 to complete this qualifying phase for Qatar 2022.
