Rabat  – Morocco’s football head coach Vahid Halilhodzic unveiled today the list of 23 football players that will participate in the World Cup qualifier matches against Sudan and Guinea.

Morocco’s football players will face Sudan’s national team on November 12 in Rabat, after which the Atlas Lions will take on Guinea on November 16 in Casablanca.

Halilhodzic’s squad includes some international football stars, including Achraf Hakimi, Soufiane Amrabat, Munir Haddadi, and Youssef En-Nesyri.

The list also includes local players, such as Raja de Casablanca’s Anas Zniti, and Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti of Wydad of Casablanca.

The list, however, still does not include Chelsea’s star Hakim Ziyech, with whom the national coach had a rift recently.

Halilhodzic said of his exclusion of Ziyech: “His behavior in the last two matches, especially the last one, was not that of a national team player who as a leader in the team has to be a positive role model.”

The full list of the national team includes:

Goalkeepers:

Yassine Bounou (Sevilla FC);

Anas Zniti (Raja Casablanca);

Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti (Wydad Casablanca);

Defenders:

Soufiane Chakla (OH Louvain);

Ghanem Saïss (Wolverhampton);

Nayef Aguerd (Stade Rennais);

Jawad El Yamiq (Real Valladolid);

Achraf Hakimi (PSG);

Souffian El Karouani (NEC Nijmegen);

and Adam Massina (Watford);

Sofiane Alakouch (FC Metz),

Midfielders:

Fayçal Fajr (Sivasspor);

 Soufiane Amrabat (Fiorentina);

 Aymane Barkok (Eintracht Frankfurt);

 Ilias Chair (Queens Park Rangers);

 Imran Louza (Watford);

Youssef Maleh (Fiorentina)

Forwards:

Soufiane Boufal (Angers SCO);

Achraf Bencharki (Zamalek);

 Munir Haddadi (Sevilla FC);

 Youssef En-Nesyri (Sevilla FC);

 Ayoub El Kaabi (Hatayspor);

Morocco’s national football team has been impressive in recent months, comfortably winning all its qualifiers and playing beautiful and efficient football that has made the Atlas Lions one of Africa’s best teams.

Currently, the team is 29th in the FIFA ranking worldwide and 3rd in Africa, behind Senegal and Tunisia.
