Rabat – Non-US citizens will be subject to a vaccine mandate, including permanent residents and travelers on immigrant visas, according to a new update by the United States’ Centre for Disease Control (CDC).
The CDC further specifies that effective November 2, all passengers aged two or older, irrelevant of citizenship or vaccine status, will have to submit a negative COVID-19 test or a document testifying that they have recovered from COVID-19 before boarding a plane.
The website of the CDC notes that only fully vaccinated people are eligible for air travel to the United States.
Under the new policy the only people excepted from the vaccine mandate are children under the age of 18, foreign national of diplomatic and official status, persons with documented medical conditions preventing them from receiving the vaccine, and certain participants of COVID vaccine trials.
According to the official website of the US Embassy, proof of vaccination consists of papers or digital records issued by the state that include the name of the traveler, date of birth, vaccine product, and date of vaccine administration..

Regarding accepted vaccines, all vaccines approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and vaccines listed for emergency use (EUL) by the World Health Organization are eligible.
The list includes the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine and two-dose vaccines Pfizer-BioNTech, and Moderna, authorized by the FDA, as well as AstraZeneca, Covishield,Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
By far, all vaccines administered by the Moroccan health administration are accepted by the US government.
The Moroccan government had previously announced that it will be administering Sputnik V, a vaccine not listed as accepted by the US government. However, as to date, there are no official reports or records of Morocco receiving any shipments of Sputnik V, or administering any Sputnik V shots.
