Fez- Head coach Lhoussine Ammouta reaffirmed today that the Atlas Lions “A” team, made up of only non-European league players, are determined to go reach the final stages of the ongoing Arab Cup competition, and hence beat their strong opponent in tomorrow’s game.

In a December 3 press conference at the main media center in Doha, Morocco’s A’ football team coach Lhoucine Ammouta confirmed that the Atlas Lions’ next game against Jordan is decisive and the players will eye on qualification for the knockout stage. The upcoming match is a crucial step towards reaching the Qatar 2021 FIFA Arab Cup

However, “in case of any surprises, a second chance is always affordable”, he added.

Expressing his thoughts about tomorrow’s game, the national team coach revealed that the match between Morocco and Jordan will be inevitably difficult and enthusiastic, given that both teams will seek to secure early qualification for the next stage, especially after their victories, respectively, against Palestine (4-0) and Saudi Arabia (1-0).

Ammouta noted that the next match against Jordan will be totally different from the one against Palestine since the Jordanian squad contains players that are “fast, physically impulsive, and enjoy a great physical condition”, making them dangerous in counter-attacks.

Further pointing to the Jordanian football team’s strengths and qualities, he said that Jordanian players are “strong both mentally and physically, under the Iraqi’s coach management Adnan Hamad”, highlighting similarities between both teams in terms of playing style and field organization. Y

Yet, the national team coach reassured that they have adequately prepared for all of these factors and the possible scenarios that might happen during the game, emphasizing the high spirits that the players enjoy.

“What I can assure you is that the national team is determined to go as far as possible in this competition,” he reaffirmed, adding that what matters most is the players’ display on the pitch.

Morocco’s A’ football team started the campaign of defending its Arab Cup title with a 4-0 win against Palestine on Wednesday. The national team selection delivered an eye-catching performance that placed them among the competition’s favorites.

Tomorrow’s game against one of group C’s best teams is a decisive test to Ammouta’s squad which will bring out its best in order to secure an early qualification to the knockout stage.
