Morocco’s Ruling Party Holds 53 Provincial Congress

Rabat – Morocco’s National Rally of Independents (RNI) has said that the party has so far held 53 provincial congresses in all regions, while the 7th National Congress is expected to take place on March 4 and 5, 2022.

According to the RNI, regional coordinators in Dakhla, Tangier, Marrakech and l’Oriental (the east) region have already completed their provincial congresses, their counterparts in Guelmim, Draa-Tafilalet, and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra and the rest of the regions are expected to wrap up their work next week, bringing the total of provincial congresses to 82.

Participants at the provincial congresses welcomed the results of the first 100 days of Aziz Akhannouch’s government, praising the finalization of the legal arsenal aimed at providing 11 million citizens with medical coverage, which is part of the Royal project on social protection.

During the congresses, members of the RNI stressed that the party has remained faithful to the promises it made during the last national congress. They detailed that the RNI conducted a policy of listening and communicating, affirming their commitment to meet the expectations of Moroccan citizens.

According to a press release, the RNI has made important achievements on the political scene, first is the sustainability of the “partisan dynamics” based on actions taken to face the challenges of the Moroccan political field.

The party’s second achievement is consolidating internal democracy and strengthening the permanent contribution of its institutions in the various organizational phases.

The provincial delegates of the RNI also welcomed Akhannouch’s determination to organize the national congress and contribute to an intellectual and political power, the statement concluded.
