French carrier Air France has confirmed the operation of flights to and from Morocco starting on February 7.
The subsidiary of the Air France–KLM Group said the airline’s resumption of flights is “pending clarification from the Moroccan authorities on the conditions required for travelers.”
On its official website, the company urged passengers to check the health requirements of their respective destinations.
The statement noted the requirement of wearing “masks upon arrival at the airport and on board all Air France aircraft.”
It also notified that “consumer fabric m4rrrrasks are not authorized on their flights according to the provisions of Decree 2020-860.”
After more than months of last-minute travel ban to prevent — and then contain — an Omicron outbreak, Morocco announced the resumption of flights starting on February 7.
Following the Moroccan government’s decision, airline companies have since been announcing the relaunch of their flights to and from the country.
The French low-cost subsidiary Transavia, which operates 17 routes from France to ten Moroccan destinations, announced earlier today that it would resume its services to and from Morocco starting on February 7.

Binter, Spanish airline, and Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s flag carrier, have also said that they will resume international flights to and from Morocco on February 7.
Morocco closed its borders on November 29, 2021, to curb the spread of COVID-19 and its strains, especially Omicron.
The decision was part of the government’s national COVID-19 policy, with the North African country arguing that it was necessary to close borders due to a lack of data on the new COVID-19 strain.
The decision to reopen air borders was welcomed by tourism professionals, travel companies, and airline employees, as the sector was most hit by the suspension of flights.
