Rabat – The United Arab Emirates condemned the Houthi drone attack that killed three in Abu Dhabi today, describing it as a terrorist attack.
The UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement to condemn the attack, which targeted oil industry areas and civilian facilities.
The Emarati government said that the move will not go “unpunished,” emphasizing that it reserves the right to respond to “these terrorist attacks and criminal escalation.”
The attacks from Houthi rebels targeted a key oil facility in Abu Dhabi, killing three people.
The attack also started a separate fire at Abu Dhabi’s international airport.
One of the citizens who died was a Pakistani citizen. The Pakistan foreign ministry confirmed the news following the attack.
“With regards to the fire involving three petroleum tankers in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, today, we have learnt through UAE authorities that it sadly resulted in deaths and injuries. The Abu Dhabi Police has also informed our Embassy in Abu Dhabi about the demise of a Pakistani in the incident,” the statement from Pakistan’s foreign ministry said.
Bahrain condemned the attack, describing it as a “cowardly terror” move. The Gulf country also expressed support for the UAE.
