Rabat – The supervisory board of TAQA Morocco appointed two new members for the management board and renewed the mandates of others.
The supervisory board of TAQA Morocco held a meeting on December 22, 2021 to appoint a new management board following the mandate expiration of four members, Fadoua Moutaouakil, Omar Alaoui M’hamdi, Abdelkader Hilmi, and Khalid Benghanem, the group stated in a recent press release.
The board renewed the mandates of two members for six years. The mandate renewal concerned Omar Alaoui M’hamdi, Deputy Managing Director and Director of Finance and Business Development Pole, and Fadoua Moutaouakil, Director of Strategy and Risk Management Pole, confirmed the press release.
The supervisory board also appointed two new members — Fatima Bendahbia and Said El Mamouni — to join the management board for the next six years. .
The General Manager of the Jorf Lasfar Thermal Power Plant, Bendahbia has accumulated expertise in the sector over the past 28 years.
She started her career at the National Office for Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE), then moved to TAQA Morocco where she held positions covering strategy and maintenance planning, human resources, and management of pole departments.
El Mamouni is the Executive Legal Director and Secretary of the Management Board at TAQA Morocco. Over 28 years of professional experience, he headed legal departments of multiple Moroccan and multinational companies operating in the energy sector.
A subsidiary of the Emirati TAQA Group, TAQA Morocco is the first private producer of electricity in Morocco. It is also listed on the Casablanca Stock exchange.
“Created in 1997, TAQA Morocco is a major player of the energy sector in Morocco covering more than 50% of the electricity national demand and 30% of the installed capacity,” according to the company’ website.
