Rabat – German finance-giant Allianz announced a change in leadership for its Morocco division, appointing Moroccan Abderrahim Dbich as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In a press release, Allianz announced Abderrahim Dbich as the successor to German Joerg Weber on January 1.
The new Allianz Morocco CEO previously held the position of deputy managing director at AXA Assurance Maroc, one of Morocco’s largest insurance firms.
While working at AXA Assurance Maroc, Dbich spearheaded the company’s local strategy for 12 years and was an active member of the Moroccan Federation from Insurance Associations (FMSAR).
Before his promotion to deputy managing director, Dbich was responsible for the actuarial function at AXA for four years. He was also head of the company’s Underwriting and Reinsurance Authorities Department for the CIMA, an insurance organization of 14 African francophone countries.
Dbich climbed the corporate ladder of several key financial institutions in Morocco since 2001. He started his career working in actuarial functions and filled a wide range of positions within Morocco’s National Fund for Social Welfare Organization (CNOPS). Operating within CNOPS, Dbich helped found Morocco’s Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO).
He is also president of Morocco’s Moroccan Traffic Accidents Guarantee Fund (FGAC), a public finance institution, and an attending member of Morocco’s Disciplinary and Regulatory Committee.
With over 20 years of experience within the insurance sector, Dbich holds substantial knowledge of the local insurance market.
