Rabat – Low-cost airline Air Arabia Maroc has announced the launch, starting on March 22, of a new direct flight between Spain’s Barcelona and Morocco’s Oujda.
Air Arabia’s departing flight from Oujda will take off on Fridays and Sundays at 10:50 a.m. local time with arrival in Barcelona scheduled at 2:35 p.m. (local time).
Meanwhile, flights departing from Barcelona will take off on Fridays and Sundays at 10:25 a.m. (local time), Air Arabia MAROC said in a statement.
Passengers can book their flights from the airline’s website, sales points, or through its call centers.
Wearing a mask is mandatory on all flights, Air Arabia Maroc said, stressing that passengers must comply with the health conditions and requirements of the countries of departure and destination.
“Information about these [COVID] restrictions is available on the company’s website and the websites of the local authorities of the countries of destination and departure,” Air Arabia noted.
Morocco reopened its airspace on February 7 after almost three months of COVID-induced flight ban. Since then, international airlines — Ryanair and Air France, among many others — and Morocco’s own flag carrier Royal Air Maroc were all quick to announce the return of their flights from and to Morocco.
Passengers flying to Morocco have to comply with a set of conditions the North African country’s authorities have put in place as part of the border reopening amid the ongoing COVID pandemic.
The conditions include a vaccination pass and a PCR negative test. Rapid tests upon arrival are one of the requirements, while passengers can also be subject to random PRC tests at the airports.
