Rabat – Five airlines announced today, February 7, the resumption of international flights from Saudi Arabia to Morocco after airspace reopening, Morocco’s Press Agency reported.
Morocco’s airspace and maritime borders closed on November 19, 2021, to counter the outbreak of the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron. After almost two months, the authorities reported the reopening of air borders on February 7. Maritime borders remain close.
Saudi Airlines, Air Arabia, EgyptAir, Air Cairo, and Royal Air Maroc will organize flights from Saudi Arabia to Morocco. The airlines expect a weekly organization of 14 flights.
Air Arabia and Royal Air Maroc declared the return of their international flights from and to Morocco on January 28.

Yesterday, Moroccan airports such as the Mohammed V in Casablanca and those in the Marrakech-Safi region welcomed their first passengers since the last travel ban.
On February 1, the Moroccan government set requirements for passengers wishing to enter Morocco.
All passengers over 18 years old must present a vaccination pass and a negative PCR test taken less than 48 hours before plane boarding. They also have to take an antigen test at the airport and potentially a PCR test. Positive cases must be confined at their place of residency.
Travelers between six-years-old and 18-years-old have to present negative PCR test results taken within 48 hours and a completed and signed printed form (link). Passengers younger than 6-year-old do not have to present a vaccination pass nor a PCR test, Royal Air Maroc stated in a press release.
As for Moroccans or foreigners wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi authorities announced that all travelers have to present a negative certified PCR test or an antigen test taken within 48 hours before departure regardless of their vaccination status.
