Rabat – Turkey and Morocco intend to expand bilateral relations following a meeting with the Turkish ambassador this Wednesday in Rabat. The meeting was held to discuss the excellent relations between the two countries, as well as to note the importance of parliamentary cooperation in strengthening bilateral relations.
The two parties used the meeting to highlight the excellent relations of cooperation and partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Turkey, under the leadership of the two Heads of State, King Mohammed VI and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Mayara reviewed the Moroccan senate’s constitutional powers and diverse composition, as well as the role that this component can play in the development of an effective economic diplomacy, Moroccan state media reports.
He called for the realization of a “Moroccan-Turkish Parliamentary Forum,” as a framework for permanent dialogue, a space for joint action, and a tool for strengthening bilateral relations in the face of a new wave of security, economic, and climate challenges.

The Head of the House of Councilors praised Turkey’s stable position and its unwavering support for Morocco’s efforts to reach a definitive solution to the Sahara issue.
In return, Dogan emphasized the historical depth of the ties that unite the two countries and peoples, while applauding the Kingdom’s progress under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
The Turkish ambassador called for a renewed partnership befitting the historical relations between the two countries in various economic, parliamentary, and cultural fields, stressing the importance of coordination and bilateral dialogue on issues of common interest.
Dogan also affirmed his country’s support for the efforts of Morocco and the United Nations for a final settlement of the Western Sahara Conflict.
