Rabat – The Regional Director of Security in Casablanca, Abdellah El Ouardi said that more than 4,000 security agents have been mobilized to police the Morocco-Democratic Republic of Congo match on Tuesday evening.
The security agents will patrol the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca that will host the second leg match between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This match will decide which team will qualify for a place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 4,000 to 5,000 security guards will be equipped with armored vehicles and equipment such as riot shields and protective clothing, the Maghreb Arabe Presse said on Tuesday.
The security agents will deal with football fans, closely observing the match to prevent any problems that could occur.
He also added that there will be tight security measures after the match, in which security will help escort fans out of the stadium until crowds disperse.

The main referee for the match is Pacifique Ndabihawenimana (Burundi), with Elvis Noupoue (Cameroon), Tiama Seydou (Burkina Faso), and Beida Dahana (Mauritania) as assistant referees.
Morocco’s national football team has played against the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) 13 times, in which Morocco won four times, the DRC won three, and seven matches ended in a draw.
The latest draw happened in the Congolese capital of Kinshasa last Friday, March 25.
During that match, the Congo scored the first goal in the 12th minute, but the Atlas Lions managed to equalize the game in the 67th minute.
