Fez- Moroccan international and Sevilla FC goalkeeper Yassine Bounou is set to make his 100th appearance with the Spanish club on Thursday evening.
Having reached 99 caps with the Andalusian club, Thursday’s game against Levante will mark Bounou’s 100th appearance with the LaLiga giants.
In celebration of this achievement, Sevilla FC is also expected to broadcast a video clip of the goalkeeper’s most remarkable moments with the club.
This achievement comes only a few days after the Moroccan goalkeeper extended his contract with the Spanish club until 2025, putting to bed all the circulating reports about a potential departure of Bounou this summer.
Since his transfer to Sevilla FC in 2019, the Moroccan goalkeeper has impressed the world’s football scene with his records, attracting the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs and appearing as a strong candidate to collect individual trophies.
Appearing as the goalkeeper with the fewest conceded goals in LaLiga this season, Bounou is a few games away from winning the Zamora trophy – awarded to the goalkeeper who concedes the fewest goals over the course of the season.
Bounou’s potential win could mark him as the first goalkeeper in Sevilla’s history to win the trophy.

However, such a nomination does not come out of the blue and is a recognition of the Moroccan goalkeeper’s stellar performances in the past two seasons, which made the Spanish club so keen to extend his contract.
In March, he made his 50th clean sheet out of 94 games played with the Spanish club.
In December 2021, the 31-year-old footballer emerged as the Spanish league’s best goalkeeper this season, conceding a total of 13 goals out of 18 games played, the equivalent of a goal every 144 minutes.
Bono, as the Spanish supporters like to call him, outplayed other renowned players such as the Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
All these figures and personal records have put the Moroccan goalkeeper on the radar of notable clubs across Europe. But, as Bounou signed a one-year extension to his current contract that was due to expire in 2024, Sevilla FC put to bed all these recent reports.
