Rabat – Eid Al Fitr 2022 is expected to take place on May 3 in Pakistan, astronomy experts have announced.

Pakistani news outlet Pro Pakistan said that astronomy experts are predicting the month of Ramadan to last 30 days instead of 29.

Experts are also predicting that the crescent moon of the month of Shawaal, marking the end of Eid, is “less likely to be sighted anywhere” in Pakistan on May 1.

The government is yet to confirm the official date after the crescent moon sighting scheduled over the weekend.

On Tuesday, the government of Pakistan announced that the Eid Al Fitr holidays will start on May 2.

The four-day holiday will start on May 2 and will continue until May 5.

Like many other countries, Muslims in Pakistan celebrate Eid Al Fitr with the feast prayer called “Salat El Eid” in the morning.

According to Official Holidays, Pakistani people celebrate Eid Al Fitr with a special dish known as Sheer Korma. The dish contains pasta cooked in milk and sugar with almonds, pistachios, and dates as toppings.

Pakistani families serve the dish on the morning of the feast immediately after Eid prayer.

Visiting guests also take a bite of the special dish during visits throughout the day.

India is also expected to celebrate Eid Al Fitr on May 3, according to astronomers.

Other countries, such as Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, among others, will celebrate Eid Al Fitr 2022 on May 2.

Many countries will announce the official date of Eid Al Fitr over the weekend following the crescent moon sighting.
