Rabat – Pre-registration for the fourth edition of the Africa Twin Morocco Epic Tour will open registration from April 29 until May 6, reported the Spanish Motorbike Magazine on Wednesday.
The 8-day race will take place between September 22 and 30, and will cover more than 1,500 km. The beginning of the race is set to include the Merzouga desert in south-eastern Morocco, Dakar tracks, and Erg Chebbi dunes.
According to Honda’s Spanish website, 50 riders will be tested under extreme conditions. These racers will navigate rocky steps, winding and twisting roads, and sand dunes.
“Participants will be selected in order of registration,” the website noted. It added that, after the validation of the registration process, Honda will contact all pre-registered participants via phone to confirm both the dates of the contest and their reservation for the event.
Once 50 participants have pre-registered, any further registration will be listed in the reserves list so that latecomers might still participate in the race in case a participant drops out.
Participants in the Epic Tour will be able to experience the thrill of racing through some of Morocco’s most amazing Saharan rough tracks.
Morocco has been a destination for many rallies and off-road tours due to its abundant landscapes.

A large dual sport bike inspired by the desert racers of the Paris-Dakar Rally, the Africa Twin is powered by a softly tuned V-twin engine.
The Dakar Rally is an annual rally organized by the Amaury Sport Organization. It debuted in 1978, when bikers raced from Paris, France, all the way to Dakar, Senegal.
But the rally was cancelled in 2008 due to terrorist threat. Afterwards, the event was held in South America each year until 2019.
