Rabat – State-backed PortNet is organizing an event on May 13, focusing on digitizing Morocco’s external trade industry and the potential it could unlock for the national economy.
PortNet, and Morocco’s National Agency of Digital Development are hosting the May event.
The event is in line with PortNet’s strategy to boost the country’s trade ecosystem and enhance its competitiveness.
Launched for the first time in 2021, the event aims to bring together actors from the public and private sectors operating in logistics and trade from different ecosystems.
The event features panel discussions and debates on issues related to Morocco’s digital transformation and economic development.
In the lead-up to last year’s event, PortNet signed an agreement with the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Investment Centre aiming to join forces and strengthen the competitiveness of the local economy.
Under the agreement, the two parties pledged to share expertise and business intelligence to help boost the local business ecosystem.
In July 2021, PortNet inked another agreement with Club OEA, a key player in Morocco’s logistics ecosystem. The agreement aims to coordinate the efforts of the two entities towards improving Morocco’s business climate.
Through the agreement, the two parties pledged to develop innovative digital solutions and improve existing digital services for companies operating in external trade.
Launched in 2012, PortNet is a public independent company set up to oversee the implementation of Morocco’s plan to create a centralized single platform to facilitate all port-related trade procedures and boost Moroccan ports’ competitiveness.
The company presents a significant milestone for Morocco’s digital transformation vision, as it has contributed to digitizing national ports, rendering them more competitive and business-friendly.
This year’s event – is hosted under the theme “Digitizing for a Connected, Integrated Africa.”
