Rabat – Israeli forces carried out another raid today at the Al-Aqsa mosque during early morning prayers.
The raid is the second of its kind since Friday, when Israeli police stormed the mosque and injured at least 150.
Israeli authorities claimed that the forces entered the compound to “facilitate routine visits by Jews” to the site.
Al Jazeera quoted the Israeli forces as claiming that Palestinians “had stockpiled stones and set up barriers in the compound.”
During today’s raid, Israeli forces caused injuries among at least 17 people Al Jazeera reported, noting that health workers took three Palestinians to the hospital after “being beaten or hit by rubber-coated bullets.”
Israeli Police also arrested nine Palestinians.
The new raid came just a few days after Israeli troops carried out a raid at the Al Aqsa mosque, injuring 150 Palestinians.
Many world leaders raised concerns about the attack, warning against further escalation that would create more tensions in the region.
Morocco was among the countries that strongly denounced the Israeli force’s invasion of the Al Aqsa mosque.

The North African country also called on the UN and the international community to “urgently” intervene to put an end to the violations against the Palestinian people and the holy sites.
Under King Mohammed VI’s instructions, Morocco contacted Israeli authorities and representatives in Rabat to express its strong condemnation of Israel’s raids on Aqsa Mosque.
