Rabat – The French Football Federation (FFF) is reportedly planning a friendly match between Morocco’s Atlas Lions and France’s Les Bleus.

Arab football news platform Winwin reported on April 3 that the FFF is hoping to schedule the friendly match between the months of June and September, as part of the preparation for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

France landed in group D in the 2022 World Cup draw. It will face Tunisia, Denmark, and the winner of the playoffs between Peru and either Australia or the UAE.

France managed to qualify for the World cup after defeating Kazakhstan with a major 8-0 score in November 2021.

The official draw, to determine the participants in each group in the World Cup was held in Doha on April 1.

France already has two world cups titles. The first World Cup it won was in Paris, where it defeated Brazil three to one in 1998. France took its second World Cup after defeating Croatia in the final by four goals to two in 2018.

Morocco landed in group F in the 2022 World Cup draw. It will play last competition’s finalist, Croatia, as well as Canada, and Belgium.

Morocco guaranteed its spot in the World Cup after triumphing over DR Congo four to one on Tuesday, March 29.

Morocco and France’s national teams last met in a friendly match back in Paris on November 16, 2007. The match ended in a two to two draw.

This friendly match will be a great opportunity for both countries to benefit from a warm-up match before the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on Monday, November 21, and end on Sunday, December 18.
