Rabat – German football club Bayern Munich on Tuesday announced the official signing of Moroccan right-back Noussair Mazraoui.
“This is for me, the biggest collab in Europe,” Mazraoui said in a video shared by Bayern Munich.
Referring to the success of the German club, the Moroccan international player made it clear that his goal is to win a Champions League.
“They always play [in the] Champions League. I want to win big titles, not only the title of competition [the German league] but also the Champions League. This is a big reason why I came here,” he added in the same video.
Impressed by the warm welcome he received on his first day as a Bayern player, Mazraoui especially recalled his meetings with Hasan Salihamidzic and Marc Neppe. “I just had after the first talk with them an amazing feeling and that never left,” he said.

Welcoming the free transfer of Mazraoui from Ajax, Bayern’s CEO Oliver Kahn described the Moroccan footballer as the “next building block” to consolidate the team and achieve its European goals for the new season.
Earlier this month, German news outlet Bild reported that Mazraoui had completed his medical check to join Bayern Munich, adding that the 24-year-old footballer will receive an annual salary of Є8 million (MAD 85 million).
German outlet Kicker also reported that Mazraoui’s contract with the German group would last for four years (2022-2026), starting from July 1.
After signing the contract today, Mazraoui became the second Moroccan player to join the German football club — following central defender and former Atlas Lion captain Medhi Benatia.
Benatia played with Bayern Munich from 2014 to 2016 and won the German Championship in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
