Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) is forecasting a new two-day heatwave on Thursday and Friday.
Throughout the heatwave, temperatures will range between 38 and 43 degrees Celcius.
On Thursday, temperatures ranging between 38 and 41 degrees will be witnessed in the provinces of Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Sidi Kacem, Khemisset, and Khouribga.
The same weather will hit Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakech, and Es-Semara.
Temperatures ranging between 43 and 46 will be recorded in Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, and in the interior of Larache, and Kenitra.
Weather ranging between 40 and 43 degrees will hit the provinces of Chefchaouen, Ouazzane, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, El Hajeb, Meknes, Khemisset, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, and Beni Mellal.
The same weather will also be recorded in Benslimane, Settat, Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Taroudant, and Tata.
Friday will also mark temperatures ranging between 38 and 40 degrees in the provinces of Sefrou, Khenifra, Azilal, Berrechid, Zagora, as well as in Skhirat-Temara and Sale, near Rabat.
As hot weather is common during this season in Morocco, it is highly recommended to ensure hydration and the wearing of sunscreen to avoid both illness and skin problems.
