Fez – As the football season has come to an end in Spain, LaLiga, Spain’s top-tier league, has taken to social media to celebrate the performance of two Moroccan strikers who have fared well in the Spanish league in recent years.
On its social media platforms, LaLiga lauded the remarkable participation of both Moroccan international players Youssef El Arabi and Youssef En-Nesyri by sharing their goalscoring contribution to the Spanish league.
“A name with too much talent made in Morocco,” the Spanish league’s official accounts captioned as it celebrated the two Moroccan strikers.
With their statistics, El Arabi and En-Nesyri are regarded as the top Moroccan forwards in the Spanish league’s history.
El Arabi, who played at Granada FC between 2012 and 2016, succeeded in scoring 44 goals with the Andalusian club, becoming the top Moroccan goalscorer in LaLiga.
Throughout his four seasons at Granada FC, the Moroccan striker steadily emerged as a legend, becoming the all-time leading goalscorer at the club.
Four years later, En-Nesyri, back then a young promising talent who had just moved to Sevilla FC, would manage to break El Arabi’s record and become the best Moroccan goalscorer in the Spanish league’s history.
Having scored 10 goals in LaLiga during his time with Leganes, the Moroccan striker would add another 35 goals in the past two seasons with Sevilla FC.
With a total of 45 goals scored so far in the Spanish league, En-Nesyri remains LaLiga’s all-time leading Moroccan goal scorer.
These significant achievements from the two Moroccan footballers have further stressed Moroccan players’ remarkable presence in the Spanish league throughout the past decades.
For many Moroccan fans and football watchers, En-Nesyri would have further widened the goalscoring gap between him and El Arabi if it were not for injuries, especially after his outstanding performance during the 2020-2021 season.
En-Nesyri has been integral to Sevilla’s largely positive results in the Spanish league over the past two seasons, and the young Moroccan striker’s continued improvement has put him on the radar of many elite clubs in Europe.
