Rabat – With an average of £490 per person for an inclusive holiday, Agadir tops the list of the cheapest holiday destinations worldwide this summer.

Second and third on the list of the most affordable holiday destinations are Costa Brava in Spain, with £546 per person, and Istanbul with £559, according to data compiled by Savoo, a holiday advisor platform.

The ranking tracks the average cost of a holiday package comprising flights and a six to seven-day holiday starting July 9, 2022, for international holiday destinations.

Savoo recommends Agadir as a “must-go-to” holiday destination for international travelers on a budget looking to enjoy their summer holiday by the city’s Atlantic beaches.

A second Moroccan city appears on the list of the best value holiday destinations. With an average cost per person of £645, Marrakech ranked ninth on the list of best value holiday destinations, according to the Savoo report.

It’s not the first time that Moroccan cities have featured on lists of best holiday destinations. In March, Morocco’s red city, as Marrakech is often endearingly called, appeared on the lifestyle magazine Conde Nast Traveller’s list of the 22 best destinations to visit in April.

During the same month, the same magazine listed Marrakech among the top 10 Friendliest Cities in the World.

The red city is home to some of the world’s best five-star hotels and often ranks as a highly desirable holiday destination for international travelers.

Prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the city saw average tourist traffic of 3.8 million every year.
