Fez – Moroccan international and Standard Liège attacking midfielder Selim Amallah has been approached by several renowned European clubs who expressed interest in signing the player, the Belgian news outlet Sud Info reported on Tuesday.
The news outlet outlined that the Moroccan midfielder is currently on the radar of France’s Lille OSC, Spain’s Valladolid, and Belgium’s Club Brugge, with all clubs keen to secure a commitment from the player.
The three clubs have closely monitored Amallah in recent weeks and regularly inquired about his situation at Belgium’s Standard Liège.
Standard Liège has entertained their offers, thus opening the door for a potential departure of Amallah, who is widely considered one of the most indispensable players in the Belgian club’s squad, said Sud Info.
Amallah joined Standard Liège in the summer of 2019 for €1.5 million. But his value has exponentially increased in the past season and now stands at €5 million, according to the football-focused website Transfermarkt.
With his contract set to expire in 2023, the 25-year-old Moroccan midfielder is reportedly not looking to continue with the Belgian team as he wishes to embark on a new adventure with a more competitive club.

In the 2021-2022 season, Amallah only scored six goals and delivered four assists in 38 appearances with Standard Liège.
His relatively unimpressive statistics, however, are mainly a result of the club’s overall poor performance this season. Standard Liege ended the Belgian league campaign in the 14th position, only four spots ahead of the league’s worst-ranked team.
If Amallah secures a move to one of the listed clubs, he is expected to benefit from a much-needed competition against stronger opponents.
Such competition could also positively impact his participation with Morocco’s Atlas Lions in the upcoming World Cup.
Amallah is a highly valued player in the Moroccan squad, regularly playing as a starter in both the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers.
