The English Premier League club West Ham United is reportedly interested in signing Moroccan international and Sevilla FC striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to Marca.

The Spanish football-focused news outlet reported that West Ham United’s quest for a center-forward has led them to knock on the door of Sevilla FC, renewing their offer to secure the services of En-Nesyri.

The London-based club is now working on convincing the Moroccan striker to join their forces in the current transfer window.

One year ago, West Ham United was on the verge of signing En-Nesyri but some final obstacles had stood in En-Nesyri’s way to the Premier League. Sevilla FC rejected the Hammers’ €30 million offer for the Moroccan forward, stressing that the player was not for sale.

This time, however, the Andalusian club is willing to let go of their reliable center-forward if a fitting offer is brought to the table.

According to Marca, Sevilla FC has set the price tag for the Moroccan international at €40 million.

En-Nesyri, 1.88m tall, is known for his dominant aerial presence, making him an ideal fit for Britain’s top league.

The Sevilla star is not the only Moroccan international to have been on the radar of West Ham United lately.

Rennes center-back Nayef Aguerd is also one of the widely circulated names within the Hammers corridors, with the English club having described the signing of the Moroccan defender as a priority for this summer window.

Earlier this month, The Guardian reported that West Ham has made a bid of €35 million to Rennes to make Aguerd one of their first summer arrivals, stressing that the London-based club is in dire need of a center-back with Aguerd’s profile.

Italian journalist and transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano has also said that negotiations between West Ham United and Rennes over the transfer of the Moroccan defender are progressing, and that the English club is getting much closer to sealing the much-needed deal.
